JC1JS2 — 7. apr 2010 — Vitas, the awsome Russian singer who can sing anything and it is amazing! He can hit notes so incredibly high and hold them forever AND in tune!!! This is one of my favorite Vitas songs. Crank it up- you'll love it. Check out Opera #2, which is the first video I saw of Vitas, I thought: WOW the best singer I've ever heard! WikiMusicGuide: How did it feel to be on stage for the first time with your hit song "Opera N#2" in 2002?

Vitas: In reality, I first performed this hit much earlier. I was twelve years old. Specifically, at this age the premiere of this composition took place, which I wrote, when I was 10 years old. This was in Odessa, in the small, beautiful, seaside city at the festival of children’s song. I performed this song, and it seemed to me, the public very warmly accepted the song, Opera #2. In 2000, I performed this hit for the first time on a professional stage in Russia. The premiere of this song took place in Russian TV program “Christmas meetings”.

WikiMusicGuide: How did your career in acting, fashion designing and composing begin?

Vitas: I do hope that my career, in all aspects, will last long-in acting, music, and designing. The designing gives me a lot of enthusiasm. I spend much time on the creation of the design of my site www.vitas.com.ru. All suits that I wear at my concerts are my creations and design. They reflect my ideas on how I should look in this or that song, as well as what image I would like to project. Designing is really convenient since I write songs and music; therefore, I precisely know how should I look in a performance. At one time, my design collections were presented on stage in the state Kremlin Palace, during the week of haute couture in Moscow. It was my collection for women, in my view several very beautiful and aesthetic details for the women. It seems to me, they highly appreciated my work; they warmly accepted my creations. I hope to repeat the design that I developed in future displays. It is interesting to me, it grasps me.

WikiMusicGuide: In a span of seven years in the music industry, you had collected close to ten major awards, what was the most memorable? And why?

Vitas: I shall answer with all my heart - the most important for me is the attention of the public. Any awards, any regalia, any titles, which I received in large quantity from the governments of the different countries, never can be compared to those smiles and eyes which I see at the concerts when people empathize with me, when they know my songs and feel my music. I admire the audience, I work for the audience, and I will do everything to make our contact more frequent.

WikiMusicGuide: What is it that made you join Worldwide League? How significant is it?

Vitas: It was a very important offer for me, this matter, in which I am still engaged. I hope to spend a lot of time, forces, and energy to participate in this process of struggle against drugs. This is a great evil and a great problem for all mankind, without territorial borders, a problem which it is necessary to struggle with and solve, to promote a healthy way of life. Therefore to take part in such business - a great honor to me.

WikiMusicGuide: You are very popular in Russia, anything in mind on how you would like your voice to invade the United States? Or in any parts of the world?

Vitas: Certainly, I am extremely grateful to the American public that it already gives me so much attention, that it knows my songs, that many letters from the American admirers are coming to me; it is a great honor to me. I shall try to do everything to make my first album, which was released on January 29th in the territory of the USA, catch the fancy of many spectators so that my concerts in the USA will take place soon.

Believe, it will be interesting. As to other countries of the world, with very great success I have already repeatedly toured in China, in Japan, in Korea, naturally, in the territory of the Russian Federation and the post-Soviet countries. I will say that we, I and my producer Sergey Pudovkin, name 2008 year of the USA. We hope that our work will be noticed by you and warmly met. We, for this purpose, shall do everything possible.

WikiMusicGuide: What inspires you to compose and play music?

Vitas: The audience, their reaction, their emotions, their morale, and my understanding that I am interesting to this audience. This is sincere.

WikiMusicGuide: Who are your musical influences?

Vitas: I do not have idols and musical idols, though classical music is very interesting to me, especially Wagner.

WikiMusicGuide: How are you different from other pop and classical singers?

Vitas: I never analyzed my differences, advantages, or disadvantages. I write music, I write verses, and I am very glad that many people like what I do. It is my life; this is my creativity, it is my internal peace and my relationship to life, to music, and to creativity. And as to any differences, being unique, the supreme judge - the spectator

Vitas: I prefer vegetarian cuisine

Vitas: There is no such understanding in my life and in my creativity. I am happy for what I am. I greatly hope that my music, my songs, my creativity, if it does not become an example for imitation, will at least have sincere human interest.
